West Hangar Area Infrastructure Expansion Phase III
May 2008 – Sep 2008
Project Description: Project consists of completion of the original design for hangar development on the southwest side of Bob Sikes Airport. Construction includes ramp extension and utilities.
Advisories: Will be published as deemed necessary.
Interior build-out of the NOFD Airport Rescue & Fire Fighting Facility (ARFF)
May 2008 – Dec 2008
Project Description: Build-out of interior improvements addressing approximately 8,000 sf of staff and support area and approximately 8,867 sf of truck parking/maintenance bays.
Advisories: Will be published as deemed necessary.
Bob Sikes Runway 17/35 Rehabilitation Phase II Aug 2008 –
Dec 2008
Project Description: - Proposed project consists of remaining rehabilitation work on Runway 17-35. Phase 1 was completed December 07, which consisted of 4,425 LF of the 8,000 LF runway. Phase II consists of design bid services only for the remainder 3,575 LF. Rehabilitation consists of pavement strengthening, grade adjustments, safety area improvements, surface overlay, runway lighting and signage replacement and additional infrastructure considerations.
Advisories: Upon work commencement, NOTAMS will be filed for runway availability.
Bob Sikes Runway 17/35 Rehabilitation Phase I-A (Obstruction Removal)
June 2008 – Sep 2008
Project Description: 12+ acres tree clearing, grubbing and sodding on the east side parallel to runway 17-35. Additional erosion control measure will be taken at the north end of the runway to protect the 1.3-acre conservation easement.
Advisories: Upon work commencement, NOTAMS will be filed for runway availability.
Bob Sikes Airport Master Plan Update
Nov 2007 – Jan 2009
Project Description: Project consists of an Airport Master Plan update including an Airport Layout Plan. The Master Plan Update will develop an inventory of the current facilities, present forecasts of growth, assess the need for additional development, and provide a plan, including costs estimates, for additional development or rehabilitation. Recommendations will be made to ensure consistency with FAA Advisory Circulars and guidelines/ procedures.
Advisories: No passenger or flight impacts
