Okaloosa County Airports
In addition to the Bob Sikes Airport, the Okaloosa County
Airports System is comprised of two additional airports, the
Northwest Florida Regional Airport and the Destin Airport.
- Northwest FloridaRegional
Airport (VPS)
The Northwest Florida Regional
Airport (VPS) is the commercial service airport for the
Florida Gulf Coast. Located 20 miles to the south on Eglin
Air Force Base, the airport currently has five (5) airlines
serving over 800,000 passengers per year with direct service
to Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Houston,
Memphis and Tampa. The 110,000 square foot modern terminal
was completed in 2004 with great fanfare and was selected
as the Outstanding Commercial Service Airport of the year
by the Florida Department of Transportation for aesthetics,
safety and service. Shortly thereafter, the terminal received
top awards in state and nationwide competitions by the Association
of Builders and Contractors.

- Destin Airport (DTS)
The Destin Airport (DTS) is located in the south end of the county and has a 5,000 foot runway and is predominately utilized by large private and corporate aircraft due to its close proximity to “the south’s most beautiful beaches” and high end resort facilities. The new terminal was completed in 2007 and offers comfortable first class facilities for travelers and pilots alike.
